It was created in 1936 when an oil exploration well accidentally tapped into a high-pressure groundwater system charged with carbon dioxide. The geyser is known for its unpredictable eruptions of cold water, often accompanied by carbon dioxide, making it look like a giant, shaken bottle of soda

 The trail ascends over 1300 feet to the top of the mesa. Along the way it runs along the spines of the Mancos badlands up into the Ferron sandstone cap on the mesa itself. The trail is marked by cairns. The hike takes about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours each way and is about 2 miles long. Near the top of the trail there are several names scratch

Topographic relief is significant as the summit rises 2,000 feet (610 meters) above the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1.5 mile. This landform's toponym was officially adopted in 1960 by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names to honor William D. "Bill" Rishel (1869–1947), who in 1907 was the first to test the suitability of the salt flat for driving by taking a Pierce-Arrow onto its surface

 This park features a fenced off-leash dog park, complete with shade and benches. The Millrace Park Pond offers an urban fishery stocked with rainbow trout, largemouth bass, bluegill, black bullhead and channel catfish. The park also offers pavilions, restrooms, and a playground.

The lake sits at an elevation of 10,740 feet, nestled in a cirque basin at the head of the Ostler Fork Drainage.

 Whiskey Island Lake also known as Guys Lake is located in Summit County, Utah. The lake is part of the Uinta Wasatch Cache national forest, and lies within the Bear river drainage of the Uinta Mountains. From Mirror Lake Highway take Forest Road 110. There is no visible sign for the turn off. There is a sign saying low clearance vehicles

 Whiskey Island Lake also known as Guys Lake is located in Summit County, Utah. The lake is part of the Uinta Wasatch Cache national forest, and lies within the Bear river drainage of the Uinta Mountains. From Mirror Lake Highway take Forest Road 110. There is no visible sign for the turn off. There is a sign saying low clearance vehicles not recommended. The exit is between Ruth Lake and Whitney Reservoir on the same side of the road. You can take a high clearance vehicle 3/4 of the way in, then you will need to hike the rest of the way. My ball joints were broken on my truck at the time so I hiked in from Mirror Lake Highway.
